British Printed Magazines Publications

Under each title we have put a small description of the publication concerned. This is how we see them, possibly not how they see themselves. Where we have an agreement with the publication concerned we have put their website in blue and underlined it. If you click on this you will be taken straight to their site.

BCMA BULLETIN: 01273 559750

Not really a magazine but a regular bulletin for members of the British Country Music Association. For details http://www.cmib.co.uk/bcma/

BRITISH BLUEGRASS NEWS: 01442 394974

The title says it all. This is published for bluegrass fans and I think only sent out to members.

CAJUN LIFE & TIMES: 01344 776844

Again the title says it all. Published for those whose first interest is Cajun music. Only available on subscription.

COUNTRY MUSIC & DANCE IN SCOTLAND & IRELAND:
01294 552094

This magazine mainly covers the local club and festival scene in Scotland and Ireland and is available by subscription and through the clubs only. It comes out every two months. The Scottish coverage is much larger than the Irish section. Check out www.cmdscotland.co.uk

COUNTRY MUSIC PEOPLE: 0208 854 7217

Britain's longest running magazine. It gives little coverage to the Brit country scene and gives more good quality in-depth articles on many country music artists not just the current flavour of the month. Comes out monthly and is available through shops or by subscription.

COUNTRY MUSIC ROUNDUP: 01522 750150

This is printed in newspaper format and has been around for more than 20 years although we have not seen a copy for some time. It balances it coverage of American country and the Brit scene.

LINEDANCER: 01704 392300

A really high quality monthly magazine aimed, as the title suggests, almost totally at line dancers. However they do have reviews of country albums and feature articles on the more popular American country music stars and the Brit acts specialising in the line dance scene. Probably publishes as many dance scripts for non-country as country but a quality publication with 90-plus pages most months. Available through shops or by subscription. Check out www.linedancermagazine.com

SOUTHERN COUNTRY: 01730 263753

Although only available on subscription or through the local clubs this is the “bible” for country club fans from Birmingham to south coast. The publication sponsor and run the UK Country Radio Awards each year. Fans probably buy it for its comprehensive what's on listings and reviews of their club.

TRADITIONAL MUSIC MAKER: 0207 424 0027

This magazine specialises in covering old tyme country music as it's title indicates. Only available on subscription.

UP COUNTRY: 0114 244 5393

A really nicely printed quality magazine. It tries to do a careful balancing act between country music and line dance—but line dance done to country music. There are major features on country stars, country news but also pages of dance scripts. Comes out every month and is only available on subscription or through the clubs.
