REVISED AUTUMN TOUR 2008:
Thursday, October 16th-Tuesday, 27th

We originally advertised a different tour but because of reasons beyond our control and requests from regulars we have now revised this tour and it will include our three most popular destinations in the USA—Nashville, Fort Worth and Phoenix—hopefully making it a cracker for newcomers and regulars alike. The New Itinerary is:

Thursday October 16th: Fly to Nashville for three nights. We will stay near all the main attractions on Broadway. Thursday evening and all day Friday free to explore the bars, Wildhorse, visit the Ryman and Country Music Hall Of Fame. Saturday 18th: We’ll take you for lunch and show on the General Jackson and the Grand Ole Opry in the evening then back downtown to end our stay in Music City in the bars.

Sunday 19th: Fly to Phoenix where we’ll stay for four nights at a hotel with three swimming pools and free hot breakfast. If there is a country star at the State Fair any of the nights we’re in town we’ll include a visit. During the following three days we’ll arrange a trip on the Dolly Steamboat, a visit to Goldfields Ghost Town, a stop at Tortilla Flat; a day trip to Tombstone where you can visit Boot Hill and the OK Corral; a day trip to see the beautiful Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon.

Thursday 23rd: Drive to Fort Worth where we will stay for four nights. Obviously all the local attractions like Billy Bob’s will be on but we also hope that the Red Steagall (above) Cowboy Gathering will also be taking place. If it is then we’ll supply a ticket for one day. At the time of writing they had not confirmed when this is taking place in 2008 but it is one of the Stockyard’s biggest events of the year. Very much a western swing thing and runs for the three nights. Obviously you can buy tickets and go other days as well. We hope our ticket will include some time at a small rodeo. Friday 24th/Saturday 25th/Sunday 26th: If we’ve got the right weekend the Gathering will still be going on but even if it is not the Stockyards will be buzzing with live acts in the open air and in Ernest Tubb’s Record Store. Plus music in various bars. Usually there is a named star at Billy Bob’s and if you like the more traditional country then a visit to the Stagecoach Dance Hall could suit you. Monday 27th: Fly home and arrive Tuesday morning. Estimated cost: £1400.

OPTIONS: You can literally fly anywhere from Fort Worth because it is a major hub. Option 1: Las Vegas: This proved very popular in June 2007 and is also one of the cheapest places to visit, for hotels and food. Option 2: Nashville but if you want extra days in Music City then it is obviously cheaper to start your holiday early there. Option 3: San Antonio for all the city’s attractions. Option 4: The Mayan Dude Ranch in Bandera.
